Spring View Middle School adheres to a “school within a school” model in which students share the same core academic teachers. Throughout the year, there is a strong emphasis on events and initiatives that encourage whole-school spirit and pride. In doing so, our goal is for all students to feel included and united as part of the larger Spring View Eagle community.
All core educational teams comprised of teachers feature a varied and balanced mix of between 70 and students. In this environment, teachers are better able to collaborate with each other to assist students who may need extra help and support. Throughout the seven period day, students rotate between the classrooms of their various teachers. Each student is assigned a homeroom teacher. Students report to this designated classroom for the first seven minutes of each day; during this time attendance is taken, announcements are made and any material to be sent home is distributed.
Following homeroom, students go to first period which, depending on their assigned team rotation, could be physical education, elective, or core academic classes language arts, math, science, and social studies. Throughout the week, blocks of time may be scheduled by core teachers to better accommodate instruction. Each student has a 5th “Plus Period” course.
